The concept of Bodhi Buddha started as a way to reinvigorate an interest in Buddhism by spreading its philosophy and aesthetics to a younger generation, sometimes through humor and satire that pokes fun at the triviality of many of our current trends, desires, and problems which are often self-imposed.
In the process of developing this brand, the pervasive problem of censorship and crimes against humanity keep surfacing. Many Buddhist symbols used for thousands of years and is still in use today in the Far East could not be produced in the West for fear of offending a very small but vocal minority. Because of this threat, Bodhi Buddha decided to create the Take a Stand collection which expands the original mission of raising awareness about Buddhism to other social issues such as genocide and the Chinese Communist aggression. Both are threats to humanity and freedom everywhere.
Buddhism is a philosophy that is inclusive and free. People of any religion and any ethnicity can be a Buddhist, and everyone is entitled to find his own truth, happiness, and freedom. Enlightenment is for all sentient beings.
